MEDIA ENGAGEMENTS

One of our objectives is to increase awareness through public campaigns and education so as to eliminate isolation, ridicule, and stigma experienced by intersex persons.

Through various media engagements, we have sought to improve knowledge on critical advocacy issues such as stigma and discrimination, gender empowerment, cultural practices and poverty that fuels human rights violations and social exclusion of intersex children, adults and parents of intersex children

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

In reaching out to the various communities around the country, we improve knowledge of critical advocacy on issues such as stigma and discrimination, gender empowerment, cultural practices and poverty that fuels human rights violations and social exclusion of intersex children, adults and parents of intersex children.

We also strengthen networks and develop strategic partnerships with human rights institutions, policy makers, healthcare associations, legal institutions, community based organizations among others to protect intersex kenyans.

INFLUENCING GOVERNMENT POLICY

By engaging policymakers from different government agencies, IPSK has had a number of successes in regards to drafting laws friendly to the intersex persons of Kenya.

From a parliamentary petition in 2017 that led to a parliamentary task force being formed to address the issues of intersex, we continue seeing many successes and hope to continue partnering with the Kenyan Government and lawmakers to achieve more.
